Store That Explore the Use of Self-Container Storage in Stars Wars
May the 4th be with you! This Wednesday, the world celebrates the wonderful Star Wars Day, and so, to celebrate, the Store That team wanted to take a closer look at the films! You may not think that these films can teach us much about storage, but that’s where you’re wrong. The use of storage in a galaxy far far away, can actually help us here in the real world to understand our storage options and the creative ways we can use them.
Camtono
In the Star Wars universe, a camtono is a form of self-container storage. It is used to store anything from credits, explosives, precious metals, or spices. It’s not as big as the storage units we have here at Store That but it’s handy for people to carry around the Star Wars universe. One particular camtono has been used in some of the old films, and most recently, in The Mandalorian to store Beskar, a precious metal that Mando’s suit is forged from. Whilst our units may be bigger, we don’t allow explosives or valuables at Store That, so no Beskar please!
The Millennium Falcon Cargo Pusher
Everyone knows what The Millennium Falcon is. However, did you know there is a version of this ship that has shipping containers attached? The YT 1300 is designed to haul cargo across the galaxy. The self-container storage options they have available are almost as good as Store That’s range of units. Just like the YT 1300, we can offer you the option of sea containers ranging from 70 square foot to 155 square foot. We also have internal units and drive up units available in all different sizes.
R2-D2
Even if you’re not the biggest Star Wars fan, you will probably know who R2-D2 is. This lovable little robot is more than just a cute droid, he was also able to carry the all-important message that Princess Leia delivered to Obi-Wan Kenobi. If R2-D2 had not stored this message and delivered it, Luke would never have been inspired to join the resistance to overcome the Empire! This goes to show that you don’t need the biggest storage to make a difference to your life; even the smallest of spaces can take a huge weight off your shoulders.
Jedi Archives
In the Jedi Temple, sits the Jedi Archives, a large collection of ancient knowledge and research that spans across thousands and thousands of years. A lot of this information is kept in the form of holocorns. Holocrons are holographic chronicles. These items have to be kept secure by the Jedi Council to ensure they don’t get in to the wrong hands. Here at Store That, we don’t have a Jedi Council to protect your self-container storage in E14 however, we do have the highest security. Our facility has 24 hour CCTV surveillance and an in-house security team.
