Storing Garden Furniture over the Winter in Sea Container Storage

Now that we’re approaching the colder months, you should consider putting away your garden furniture into sea container storage to protect it from the elements. However, it’s important to store your belongings properly to avoid any damage. So, why should you store away your outdoor furniture over the winter? When the summer season is over, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be lounging on your garden chairs or hosting any BBQ parties! Clearing away your furniture can help to ensure it doesn’t get damaged by the hostile weather conditions and add some additional space to your garden for other uses (perhaps a Christmas light display?!). 

Cleaning your Garden Furniture 

First things first, you need to ensure your garden furniture is clean and dry prior to putting it away in sea container storage. Whilst your furniture may look clean, you need to be certain to prevent any mould or rot developing whilst it’s in storage. You will need to use a non-abrasive cloth, all-purpose cleaner, and a hoover and potentially laundry detergent for any cushions. 

If you have any wicker furniture with signs of mould, this needs to be rinsed with water and detergent and left to air dry to ensure it’s completely clean. Any cushions need to be cleaned with water, laundry detergent and a hoover, and then left to dry for at least 48 hours. 

Packing and Transporting Furniture

You also need to ensure that you have a large enough van available from a reputable company to transport your furniture with the least possible chance of disfigurement.
