Keeping Your Sea Container Rentals Safe on Firework Night

Firework night is already upon us and this year, we’re giving sea container rentals the spotlight. Now these two might not sound related but stick with us! Store That are going to be talking about all the ways we can keep your rentals safe on bonfire weekend, and the whole year round.

Our Prohibited items

Yes, we know it can be a buzzkill, but we’ve got to have some rules – they go hand in hand with safety. Unlike the rest of the UK this weekend, you won’t find any fireworks in our containers. Please don’t think about toasting your marshmallows in there either - we don’t allow the storage of food or perishable goods as this can attract unwanted visitors. Please refrain from keeping combustible, flammable, explosive or oxidising materials in your storage unit. This includes paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents and fireworks. Other items we don’t allow are:

  •  Firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives

  • Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents, or asbestos

  • Pollutants, toxic or hazardous materials, or contaminated goods

  • Anything that emits fumes, smells or odour

  • Any illegal goods

  • Compressed non-flammable gases (without our consent)

  • Tyres or waste materials

  • Any personal data

The items we prohibit allow us to keep you and the contents of all our sea container rentals safe all year round.

Insurance

People often worry that leaving their belongings in storage is going to put them at risk of damage. The above list, containing some of prohibited items, helps to keep everyone’s items safe. However, in the unlikely event that something does happen, we have an insurance charge. This is £4.20 per £1000 of value, per month. Should a firework land on one of your sea container rentals, you will be covered, phew! It is vital that insurance for your goods is for the correct value, so double check that everything adds up.

Padlocks and Access

Here at Store That, we insist you use a padlock. We have a range available in our shop, or you can supply your own. You can permit another person to have secondary access to your unit for your convenience. We will ask you to name them on your account for security purposes and to ensure that there is no one accessing your unit who shouldn’t be. People who have access to your unit should be supplied with your access code and padlock key/combination.

Security

At Store That, our security is top notch to protect your items! We offer a secure site with a 24-hour in-house security team, along with full CCTV coverage of the entire building. Guy Fawkes wouldn’t get past us!
