Christmas is over and just like that we’re heading towards the new year! Although it was a slightly quieter one this year, we hope you got to enjoy the festivities at home and indulge in a few extra mince pies and Bailey’s to compensate!

Charitable Donations
At Christmas, we seem to accumulate triple the amount of things we had just a couple of weeks before! If you have children, you’ll probably be knee deep in toys and games. The new toys quickly become the favourites, and old toys take up room in cupboards and floor space.
Similarly, with clothes, we all love to treat ourselves to a new winter wardrobe; even though there are brand new things we still haven’t worn from this time last year folded in a drawer. Maybe the kids have outgrown last year’s haul but you’re struggling for space to put the new coats?
It’s the perfect time to clear out the old to make way for the new. Anything in good condition will be greatly received by your local charity shop or clothes bank. If you’re not sure about what to donate, give them a ring and check to see what they need most.
Visit Your Local Food Bank
Everyone is guilty of over-stocking the cupboards at Christmas time. It always seems like a good idea to buy the new novelty festive snacks, until you’re left with them after Boxing Day and you don’t want to see another crisp or piece of cheese ever again!
There are always so many leftovers, so take what you don’t need down to your local food bank. It’s something many don’t think of, but demand for food donations is always high and will be much appreciated, especially in the current climate.
Re-gifting Collection
Maybe keep this one between us! Now and again, we all receive gifts we don’t want or need - why not save unwanted presents to give to those who would benefit in the future?
