In 2019, the Self Storage Association UK Annual Report unveiled a variety of intriguing statistics about the industry. Some of these you may have been able to guess, whereas others may come as a complete surprise.

94% of customers say they are happy with the service they receive from their self-storage facility. We like to think we can offer a commendable service to way above 94% of our clients, and a quick look at our Google reviews definitely confirms this!

In general, 35% of customers across the UK keep their unit for three years or more. We’re always happy to look after your belongings for as long as you would like us to. Currently, only 48% of the public have a good knowledge of self-storage. However, in 2018 this statistic was at 46%, so if this steady increase is anything to go by, this year’s stats should bump the public awareness up to a bold 50%!

Apparently 71% of self-storage customers are between 40 and 69 years old. We hugely appreciate our middle-aged demographic, but we’re willing to go above and beyond for any customer we have, no matter their age!
