What ‘The Mummy’ can teach us about storage.

The countdown to Halloween has officially begun and if you’re anything like our East London storage team, you’ll be excited to see what the festivities have to bring.

Whilst this spooktacular time of year has been the inspiration for many scary movies, they’re offering more than just thrills and chills. Some of these films can teach us a lesson or two about storage as well.

Today, our London Docklands storage team reveals what ‘The Mummy’ can teach us.

Invest in a good padlock.

Throughout the film, Rick and Evelyn are constantly breaking into places they shouldn’t be. Which begs the question - why didn’t the Egyptians invest in a better lock! The Mummy teaches us that investing in a good padlock is vital when you want to keep your belongings secure. In fact, we even sell some here at our E14 storage facility!

You can’t store everything!

If you’re a regular reader of our blogs, you’ll have heard our recounted horror stories where people have kept all sorts of strange items in storage containers. But The Mummy takes this one step further and stores away a high priest!

Unsurprisingly, being locked away for thousands of years caused the high priest to develop a grudge towards the world. This ultimately led to him breaking free and attempting to kidnap Evelyn. The lesson here? Think about what you are putting into self-storage.

Store your items in a secure facility.

The ancient pyramids were supposedly created to prevent theft, but it hasn’t stopped thieves and architects from breaking in to discover its hidden treasures. Just like the Ancient Egyptians, we all have belongings we want protected. This is why it's vital to keep your items in a secure facility with 24 hour security.

Here at Store That, our East London self storage facility, we provide a variety of storage units to ensure you have the right one to suit your individual or business needs. Each unit comes with 24 hour security and CCTV to keep your belongings safe and secure.
