What Friends can teach us about secure storage E14
Although not necessarily ‘relevant’ anymore, Friends has touched the hearts of millions, and continues to do so through it’s devoted fanbase. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross have taught us a myriad of things about romance, relationships, facing the pressures of adulthood, becoming a parent and, most importantly, friendship.
It’s understandable that all these teachings may have overshadowed the subtle messages that Friends taught us about the importance of storage. But worry not! Store That is here to uncover the true message of the beloved sitcom!
Monica’s Secret Cupboard
The beauty of Friends was that each and every one of us knew a version of the famous six in our own life. We all know a clean-freak like Monica, but even she has her slip-ups, as I’m sure everyone remembers in ‘The One With The Secret Closet’.
Even the tidiest of people can run out of steam in keeping everything in it’s correct and orderly place. Sometimes we just need that special space to keep all of our miscellaneous items. Out of site; out of mind. But there’s no reason to waste a whole cupboard on piled up junk when storage containers for rent are available at an affordable price. Then you can use your spare cupboard for something more important… like hiding Tom Selleck for example!
Joey’s Entertainment Centre
An absolutely solid storage tip that everyone should take on board is: if you don’t have the space, make the space! Joey takes this advice quite literally in ‘The One With Frank Jr’ when he decides to build his own entertainment centre. After acquiring far too much wood, and almost killing Chandler in the process, Joey manages to build a fairly adequate unit - apart from the fact that it partially covers both bedroom doors.
If you simply don’t have the room for a new storage space (or don’t trust your own measuring abilities), then your solution can be found in the storage units in E14! However, if you do decide to build your own storage space, make sure to never prove it’s size by shutting yourself inside it, as you might get out to find you have nothing left to store!
Jack Gellar’s Garage
In the episode ‘The One Where Rosita Dies’, something much more meaningful is destroyed than Joey’s precious chair. All of Monica’s childhood memories are lost to the world after her dad uses their boxes to keep the annual garage flood water away from his Porsche.
This meaningless destruction could have been avoided by Jack investing in a storage unit for all of the untouched boxes in his garage. This is certainly an affordable option and would have definitely been cheaper than guiltily giving up the Porsche. On the topic of cars, not only do we have storage units and sea container rentals available, but also drive-up units E14!
Overall, Friends has taught us plenty of reasons to invest in better storage, and perhaps the greatest reason of all is that each character clearly has their own storage unit. The reason we know this? Well, there’s no way any of them could live so spatially in a New York apartment without one.
